First Aid, Health & Safety Policy

Many of the staff are First aid trained. Mrs Hammond is the teacher in charge of First Aid. The school has a range of established and tested procedures for dealing with accisdents and injuries ranging from minor to the more serious.

The school will contact a parent as soon as possible after an injury, however minor. This may be merely to explain what has happened, or to request that a child be collected, or to give details of treatment. A school’s first duty is to keep its children safe. Gower House takes this responsibility very seriously. All staff report health and safety matters to the headmaster. There is a regular programme of inspection and repair by the maintenance staff, Monty and Nick.

All staff including non-teching staff are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.
