Black History Month
Black History Month is celebrated by many school’s in October each year, including Gower House.
Each class prepares topics designed to explore and highlight the contribution made to this country’s society and history by men and women from the ethnic communities over several centuries.
Children examine the traditions, clothes and food of the various cultures represented in our communities today. The Under Five Dept hold a Black History Party and a Black History Lunch menu is served for one day.
Charity Fundraising
Each year children At Gower House raise thousands of pounds for various child related charities.
In recent years funds have been raised for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, NSPCC as well as the Haiti Earthquake.
Older children often suggest and promote their own fundraising activities, such as cake sales or non-uniform days.

In addition, £840.00 was raised for Barnado's by the Under Five's children on their annual Big Toddle.
